comedian Bava Lakshmanan, who recently spoke about his financial and health difficulties, has been given temporary accommodation at an MLA hostel in Chennai. The move comes after former actor Rajmohan Arumugam, Tamil Nadu Minister for School Education, Tamil Development, Information and Publicity, and Film Technology (including the Cinematograph Act) intervened to extend support to the actor. Rajmohan who is part of Tamil Nadu chief minister C Joseph Vijay's office has now arranged temporary stay for Lakshmananin Chennai’s Omandurar Government Estate. It has been reported that efforts are underway to arrange permanent housing for Lakshmanan within the next six months.

Bava Lakshmanan, a well-known face in Tamil cinema for over three decades, has acted in several films alongside popular comedians such as Vadivelu, Vivek, and Goundamani. He is remembered for his dialogue Vamma Minnal from the 2000 film Maayi and his role in Anandham. Before becoming a full-time actor, he worked as a production manager on several films directed by Vikraman and was associated with over 40 projects produced by Super Good Films.
In a recent interview, Lakshmanan spoke about his struggles after health complications forced him to reduce work. He said long-term diabetes led to surgery and the amputation of three toes, leaving him unable to take up regular acting assignments. With limited income and increasing medical expenses, he said he was struggling to manage treatment and basic living costs.The interview went viral after the actor said, “If Vijayakanth sir had been alive, I would not have suffered like this.” He also appealed for financial assistance from Tamil Nadu Chief Minister
Vijay. Following this, Minister Rajmohan has arranged stay for Lakshmanan. The actor said he has been staying there for the past two days and expressed gratitude, saying that the minister assured him of further medical assistance.

Following this, several members of the film industry extended support. Actor Cool Suresh reportedly arranged rented accommodation and basic necessities, while actor Jiiva and comedian KPY Bala provided financial assistance. Businessman and actor Legend Saravanan contributed Rs 2 lakh towards his medical and family expenses. Rajmohan Arumugam popularly known as Put Chutney Rajmohan gained a strong following as a YouTuber, content creator, and motivational speaker, especially among young audiences in Tamil Nadu. He first came into the spotlight after winning the reality orator show Tamil Pechu Engal Moochu in 2008–09. In 2023, he made his directorial debut with the school drama Baba Black Sheep.
