Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actor Tanmay Vekaria’s father, veteran Gujarati actor Arvind Vekaria, has died. Tanmay, who is best known for playing Bagha on the hit sitcom, lost his mother last year in October. He is yet to share an official statement on the sad loss. However, reports say that his father had been unwell. The exact cause of death is not known yet and further details are currently awaited. The tragic news has left fans worried for Tanmay, who has been going through a difficult phase since the demise of his mother.

Not many know that Tanmay's father Arvind was a renowned actor in Gujarati theatre and cinema. He has worked in several iconic films like
Yashoda, Rupiyo Nach Nachave, Chhanu Chamaklo, and more. The actor also starred in Mukesh Khanna’s popular show
Shaktimaan.He was also seen in
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah in a guest appearance as a jeweller. The episode showed Atmaram Bhide (played by Mandar Chandwadkar) pawning his wife Madhavi’s (Sonalika Joshi) jewellery when he needed money. His brief role in the show had left a mark on the audience.
Tanmay Vekaria's heartbreaking video goes viral
Recently, a video of Tanmay surfaced online, leaving fans concerned. It showed the actor breaking down in tears on the sets of
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. He was inconsolable as he cried while remembering his mother. Producer Asit Kumarr Modi was seen trying to comfort him. Curious fans took to the comments section of viral post to ask questions like: "Why is he crying?", "What happened to Bagha?" and more.Reportedly, Tanmay was filming a romantic sequence with his on-screen partner Bawri on set. As soon as the director called "action," he began crying uncontrollably instead of acting out the scene. The emotional breakdown is said to have halted filming for a while.Tanmay’s mother was very fond of his role as Bagha. Currently, the show is focusing on his character's love life.
