Samantha
Ruth Prabhu delivered yet another successful Telugu film. Maa Inti Bangaaram, directed by BV Nandini Reddy, has become the highest-grossing female-led Tollywood movie. At the success meet with the press in Hyderabad, Samantha confessed to being sceptical about even selling one ticket of the film in theatres. Now, its worldwide gross has reached approximately Rs 90.15 crore. Amid the success of Maa Inti Bangaaram, Zoom spoke to writer and co-producer Raj Nidimoru about the film’s budget, considering it is headlined by one of the leading actresses from Telugu cinema.
Raj Nidimoru exclusive interview
In an exclusive interview with Zoom, Raj confirmed that the budget of
Maa Inti Bangaaram was ‘tight’ as he wanted to recover it from the film’s box office collection. He further recalled receiving calls from other filmmakers asking him for a formula to crack a film like this with a limited budget.
Raj Nidimoru reveals Maa Inti Bangaaram was made on tight budget
Raj told us, “I am not just producing it but creatively getting the film done. It is in my hand. I cannot blame anyone later for the film being over budget. As Samantha said, we were not sure how many tickets we were going to sell, so I had to make it within a tight budget. We made the film on a
limited budget, and many asked us how we achieved it. The audience watching films on Fridays can make or break it. I wanted to be careful with the budget and recover most of it from the movie itself.”
Maa Inti Bangaaram is the highest-grossing female Telugu film
Maa Inti Bangaaram broke Anushka Shetty’s
Arundhati’s record at the box office. In 2009, the supernatural thriller directed by Kodi Ramakrishna had collected Rs 70 crore worldwide in its lifetime and became one of the biggest commercial films led by a female actor in Telugu cinema’s history.
