Ahmed Khan Opens Up About Fallout With Shahid Kapoor, Says ‘We’ll Work Together Again’

Ahmed Khan is currently enjoying the success of his latest creation, Welcome to the Jungle. The film is a sequel to the hit comedy franchise Welcome. Other than that, his former friend Shahid Kapoor was recently seen in the rom-com drama titled Cocktail 2, another sequel from the Hindi cinema. Recently, the filmmaker has opened up about his bond with Shahid Kapoor, their current relationship, and how they drifted apart. Ahmed also revealed whether they will do a movie together or not, and also on what basis. Here’s what he said.

Ahmed Khan Breaks Silence On Fallout With Shahid Kapoor

Ahmed Khan and Shahid Kapoor have been close friends since their childhood. Ahmed was 11, and Shahid was 7 when they first met. After that, they also worked on many projects together, including Ishq Vishq, Fool & Final and the song Aankhon Mein Tera Hi Chehra, where Ahmed Khan stepped in as the choreographer, and later in Paathshala as a producer, he tells News18.

He reveals that they do not meet each other much now, as to him, this is the industry where you befriend many new people and “forget who your real friends are”. The Welcome to the Jungle director says they are different in choices and in lifestyles.

Will They Work Together?

Ahmed reveals that in recent years, Shahid has been following a certain template of films that he likes, and he is working on the ones he wishes to make. But to him, they might work together only when they come together (trajectory-wise). “We’ll come together when we’re on the same page about the kind of films that we want to do,” he adds further. According to Ahmed, if he went to the Cocktail 2 star with a script in the early days, he would jump directly into it, but now “it’s a fifty-fifty scenario.”

For the unversed, in the year 2015, reports flooded in that there was a rift brewing between Ahmed Khan and Shahid Kapoor. The audiences were left with nothing but buzz; soon, Ahmed reflected upon the real reason for the tiff. When Ahmed was bedridden due to vertigo attacks, Shahid did not pay him a visit at the hospital. Later in the same year, Shahid Kapoor married Mira Rajput, which the Baaghi 3 director skipped intentionally.

Currently, both celebrities are working on what seems best for them. But, Ahmed’s hint for a possible collaboration in the future makes it an exciting angle for all fans and audiences.
