What Is AICWA’s Take In Rajesh Sharma’s Insect Bite Case?
AICWA shared a long note regarding
Rajesh Sharma’s insect bite case on Instagram, in which the film body expressed deep concern over the sudden deterioration in the health of the veteran actor. AICWA revealed that Sharma’s health worsened during the shoot after which he travelled to Kolkata to get himself admitted to a private hospital.
Rajesh is still not out of danger. In the statement, the
AICWA president stated, “Considering the gravity of his condition, AICWA believes that a thorough, independent and transparent investigation into the circumstances that led to this medical emergency is absolutely essential.”
AICWA questioned the makers of
Fauji for not immediately admitting Rajesh Sharma in one of Hyderabad’s leading private hospitals after his condition deteriorated. The film body said, “Were adequate emergency medical facilities available on the set? Were mandatory health, hygiene and workplace safety protocols being followed? What exactly happened at the shooting location?” The organisation also expressed concerns over poor hygiene, unsafe working conditions and inadequate emergency medical preparedness at several film shooting locations. AICWA mentioned that it is producer and production house’s moral and legal responsibility to ensure a safe working environment for artists, technicians and workers.
AICWA’s Request To Telangana CM
AICWA has also urged the Chief Minister of Telangana, Revanth Reddy, to order an immediate high-level investigation into the incident. They have asked to take legal action against the production houses and producers who don’t follow such safety precautions.
The film workers’ association has also demanded producer and production house bear the complete cost of Rajesh Sharma’s medical treatment and ensure the MS Dhoni actor receives the best healthcare until his full recovery. For the unversed, film director Sudipa Chatterjee informed about Rajesh Sharma’s health on her social media handle. The Fauji makers are yet to make an official comment on the issue.
