The actress took to her social media account to say she finds these fake statements shocking, as they were never made by her in the first place. The viral post was a screenshot that claimed to be a statement from Shilpa Shetty’s account and featured some fake comments. The image gained traction online, which brought heavy criticism of the actress and her opinion. Here’s what she wrote in her clarification.
Shilpa Shetty Issues Statement
Shilpa Shetty took over her social media account and responded to the growing controversy that was going on in her name. Refusing the claims, the
KD: The Devil actress wrote, “I am shocked to see fake statements on false reservation attached to my name.” She requested that the viewers not believe in such fake claims and confirmed that they are fabricated.
She defined the false statements made in her name as “malicious garbage”, which were completely manufactured. “Do not fall for this fake news!” Shilpa Shetty concluded. She made the clarification on her Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) accounts.
What Was The Fake Screenshot About?
The actress faced criticism and controversy after a fake image/screenshot started circulating online. The image was allegedly taken from Shilpa Shetty’s Instagram account. According to the statement, the actress supported doctors treating patients only from their caste so that people realise the need for removal of reservations. The screenshot read, “Don't touch the reservation. Let general category doctors treat only general category patients and let everyone else treat only patients from their own caste. Do this for a few years and people will start asking to end caste-based reservation themselves. You can't get skill through reservation.”
