Hanumankind,
a globally known rapper, visited Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on Monday to stand in solidarity with the protesting students. Amid the tense and violent situation there, he joined several other Bollywood stars in backing the protestors who have been quietly protesting for educational rights and the resignation of the Union Minister of Education. Hanumankind blended in the crowd and was noticed by locals. He shared pictures from the protest on Instagram. The Chalo Sansad march led by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) on Monday turned violent when police resorted to lathi charge.

Hanumankind shared Instagram Stories from the
protest. He wrote, “Right before the cops started firing tear gas and beating people with sticks.” Sharing pictures on Instagram, he sarcastically wrote, “July 20th 2026. Some of the more colorful moments of the day.” Vishal Dadlani commented, “Thank you, my brother, for being one of the few people standing up.”
Who is Hanumankind?
Hanumankind a.k.a Sooraj Cherukat is a rapper from Kerala. His track
Big Dawgs, which released in 2024, became a sensation, especially after it went viral in America. The rapper's first song for a film was in 2020, in the Kannada action crime film
Popcorn Monkey Tiger directed by Duniya Soori. Hanumankind sang the song
Maadeva in music director Charan Raj's composition. He debuted as an actor in the 2024 hit Malayalam film
Rifle Club. More recently, Hanumankind also performed at Coachella in California, USA in April 2025. He made his Bollywood rap debut with
Dhurandhar in 2025. Besides this, he has
Jana Nayagan in the pipeline.
CJP protest turns violent
According to ANI’s report, the
CJP protest march towards Parliament on Monday turned violent, with Delhi Police claiming that more than 118 police personnel were injured in clashes. Around 60 protesters were also reported to have sustained injuries. Police have registered five FIRs in connection with alleged violence, stone-pelting and vandalism and are examining more than 250 videos to identify those involved in the incidents. Meanwhile, Sonam Wangchuk has been instructed by the Delhi High Court on Tuesday to abide by the medical advice and treatment protocol prescribed by doctors at Medanta Hospital while ordering his immediate transfer from Safdarjung Hospital to the private hospital of his choice. He was taken to Safdarjung Hospital after he lost over 9 kg during the hunger strike and his health reportedly deteriorated. Wangchuk had been on strike since June 28.
