Gourav needs no introduction today. The young actor has carved a niche for himself in Bollywood and the OTT world with one critically acclaimed project after another. While he began his journey at a very young age, it was The White Tiger with Priyanka Chopra and Rajkummar Rao that changed things for him. He recently revisited the early days of his career and also recalled how he bagged My Name Is Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar’s much-loved project at the age of 14. He revealed that he was simply too excited to be on a film set and did not even focus on his character.

“The White Tiger completely changed my life. It just helped me put the spotlight on me. Sometimes actors can be working very well for years without the spotlight shining on them, and for that to happen, it is a matter of extraordinary luck,” he told Zoom and added, “The White Tiger wasn't my first film. I had been working for many years before that. A lot of people actually didn’t know I was working before that, but that film put me in the spotlight and gave me the chance to have a career."He described the experience as “insane” and “beautiful,” adding that both his co-stars were very genuine people who have remained an important part of his life even after the film. He said they were extremely supportive, always helpful and caring towards him during the shoot. He further shared that he was just 24 at the time and felt very lucky to work with such kind human beings, apart from them being big stars.

Talking about landing the role of young Rizwan in MNIK, Adarsh said, “The audition was very simple. I just had to repair a chair, and I guess they saw some facial similarities with Shah Rukh sir.”

He added, “The shooting experience itself was something I had never experienced before. I had never been on a film set, so I was fascinated by everything happening around me. I was so distracted because I couldn’t believe I was on a film set. I was not even focused on the character.”

Adarsh also revealed that he never met SRK during the shoot of the film. He recently bumped into the superstar about two years ago.
