Inside details about Taylor Swift's wedding
According to documents obtained by the Associated Press, New York City's permitting office approved a special event permit for Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night. The permit outlines a two-day celebration beginning with an intimate pre-party on Thursday evening before culminating in Friday's main wedding reception.
The
wedding festivities reportedly began on Thursday, when approximately 100 guests attended a pre-party celebration believed to have served as a rehearsal dinner. Black SUVs were seen arriving at a tented entrance outside Madison Square Garden, shielding guests from public view as they entered the venue. Overnight, crews prepared the arena for the larger event by erecting dedicated entrance structures and a drive-through tent for arrivals. The main celebration is scheduled to begin at
5 pm on Friday (IST 2:30 am, Saturday) and, according to the permit, has approval to continue until
4 am on Saturday. Official records indicate the reception can accommodate up to
1,000 guests. To facilitate the event, authorities have announced extensive traffic restrictions around Madison Square Garden. Several surrounding streets will be closed to vehicles beginning Friday afternoon, while pedestrian access in certain areas will also be limited as security is heightened around the venue during the busy holiday weekend. The celebrations are expected to attract an impressive list of celebrity attendees from across music, film, television and professional sports. Although the complete guest list has not been officially released, reports suggest several of Swift's longtime friends and collaborators are expected to attend the festivities. Earlier reports had also indicated that musical performances from artists including Stevie Nicks, Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney may form part of the evening's entertainment.
Bride-To-Be Taylor Swift's last appearance at MSG
Madison Square Garden has become an especially meaningful venue for Swift in recent months. While Swift has not performed at the arena in several years due to the stadium-sized scale of her Eras Tour, the iconic venue now appears to be hosting one of the biggest personal milestones of her life. The excitement surrounding the event has even extended to New York City Hall. Mayor Zohran Mamdani joined in the celebrations by sharing a Spotify playlist featuring 12 of his favourite Taylor Swift songs ahead of the wedding. The playlist included fan favourites such as
Love Story (Taylor's Version),
Cruel Summer,
Delicate,
my tears ricochet and
I Don't Wanna Live Forever.Neither Taylor Swift nor Travis Kelce has officially commented on the ongoing wedding reports. However, fans AKA Swifties have started gathering near MSG to catch a glimpse of
