Johnny Galecki Returns To Acting With Kowalski
After a seven-year hiatus from acting, The Big Bang Theory star
Johnny Galecki is set to return with the Chicago stage production of Kowalski. The actor will portray legendary playwright Tennessee Williams in the play, which is written by Gregg Ostrin and directed by Colin Hanlon for Lookingglass Theatre Company. As per Variety the performances are scheduled to run from September 19 to October 25. Set in 1947 Provincetown,
Kowalski imagines the first meeting between Williams and Marlon Brando, a moment that would eventually influence the creation of

In a statement, explaining about his return to acting, Galecki shared, “The planets aligned. Gregg’s writing, Colin’s vision, and the feeling that after seven years of quietly observing life, I finally had something new to bring back to the work. Add to that the privilege of portraying one of my artistic heroes, and it became impossible to say no.”Playwright Gregg Ostrin added, “At its heart, ‘Kowalski’ is about the collision of extraordinary talents and the lasting impact those encounters can have on art and culture.”

Galecki became a household name with his Emmy-nominated performance as Leonard Hofstadter in
