Actor Faissal Khan has finally come out to speak on his reconciliation with his brother and Bollywood superstar, Aamir Khan and the family after years of public differences and distance. He said that he regrets making personal allegations in the public eye and wants to rebuild relationships. Faissal credited the Holy Quran for helping in changing his perspective about life. This comes after the 59-year-old levied several accusations against his family in a highly publicised manner, eventually breaking ties with his kin. For the unversed, Faissal has shared screen space with Aamir Khan in the film Mela (2000), which also starred Twinkle Khanna. In an interview with Ujjwal Trivedi, Faissal spoke about his relationship with his family and said that anger
and pain made him say things which he now wishes he had handled differently.
Faissal Khan's apology to Aamir Khan and family
Faissal Khan had publicly apologised to his mother, sister Nikhat, brother-in-law Santosh Hegde and Aamir Khan, saying that it was a mistake to speak about family issues in public. He said he believes those issues should have been resolved privately, not through public statements."I want to apologise to my mum first. I want to apologise to Nikhat. I'd like to apologise to Santosh. I also apologise to Aamir," Faissal said. He added that he was no longer interested in proving who was right or wrong, but rather wanted to focus on keeping peace and harmony in his family.According to him, what mattered more was the need to close the emotional gap and repair family ties, not explanations for past disagreements.
Quran helped him see things differently
Reading the Quran was instrumental in changing Faissal's perspective on his family situation, he said. He stated that he found a verse that stressed the importance of keeping ties with family members, and it made him reconsider the distance he had put between himself and them. "I learned to value saving relationships over holding onto past pain," the actor revealed. "I made up my mind to forget what anyone had done. Saving relationships is more important," he shared.Faissal said this realisation prompted him to take the first step to reconnect with his loved ones. Thus, the first person he called was his sister Nikhat, who answered immediately. He later realised his mother missed him and was emotionally affected. He went to Mumbai to meet her.
On reconciliation with Aamir
Later, he even met
Aamir Khan and apologised to him personally for his past acts. "In anger and pain, I said many things that I should never have said. I should not have spoken about those things in public. I should have sat down with my family and discussed them."Regarding Aamir, he added, "I told Aamir, I am sorry. What I did, I should not have done. Please forgive me." According to Faisal, his family welcomed him back with warmth and affection. That's how he succeeded in ending years of misunderstandings. "Everyone welcomed me. My mother, Nikhat, Santosh and Aamir all accepted me. Now all our grievances have come to an end."
Faissal on mental wellbeing
The actor also addressed the ongoing conversations surrounding his mental health, saying he was misunderstood and suggesting his initial diagnosis could have been wrong. Faissal was said to have been cleared in a subsequent examination at a government hospital and also won the related legal case. However, he said he does not want to revisit those difficult chapters and instead wants his family to trust and understand him.For now, Faissal is working on a couple of scripts and hopes to make films for OTT platforms. "I just want to make stories that make people happy and entertain them during the difficult times," he said.
