Telugu filmmaker Puri Jagannadh’s mother passed away on Saturday (July 25) at the age of 96. She was fondly called Ammaji by her loved ones. It is a difficult time for Puri and his family, as the news about his mother’s demise was kept under wraps for a couple of days. On Sunday, Pavithra, who is a daughter of Puri Jagannadh, shared an emotional note on her Instagram story and remembered her grandmother. She shared a throwback photo with her dear ‘Ammaji’. Notably, the iSmart Shankar director has not yet issued any statement over his mother’s demise on social media.
Puri Jagannadh’s Mother Is No More
Pavithra took to her Instagram story and shared a picture with Ammaji and explained how affectionate she was. The director’s daughter stated in a note that she is missing her grandmother a lot.
Puri Jagannadh’s daughter wrote, “Who will call me ‘Chinnathalli’ now? Who will kiss me so lovingly? I wish I could spend just one more day with you. I would give you the biggest hug, just like I did on your 96th birthday. I miss you, Grandma (sic)."
The note is going viral on social media and netizens have been offering condolences to Puri Jagannadh and his family over the loss of his mother.

Puri Jagannadh is currently working on his next film,
Slum Dog 33 Temple Road. It features Vijay Sethupathi, Tabu, Vijay Kumar, Brahmaji and VTV Ganesh in key roles. The music of the film is being composed by a National Award-Winning composer, Harshavardhan Rameshwar. It is being jointly produced by Puri Connects and JB Motion Pictures. Slum Dog 33 Temple Road is expected to be released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
