Day 2026 is being celebrated across the world on June 21. On the occasion of Father’s Day, singer Shaan and his son Maahi had an exclusive conversation with Zoom, where they opened up about their bond, music and more. The Chand Sifarish singer got emotional while talking about his late father Manas Mukherjee’s struggle. He confessed that he is not even 2 per cent of his father. Moreover, Shaan also said that he is very proud of his sons, Maahi and Soham. He hopes that his son can break the jinx of a popular father singer having a more popular son.

Shaan on children getting privileges

During a candid conversation with us, Shaan mentioned that children of celebrities get privileges. However, he also clarified that not all of them manage to live up to their parents’ success. The singer said, “We have to accept the fact that these children have privileges due to their parents. Some of them have a lot and some of them don't. We can't deny that. But a lot of children don't know what hard work means. They confuse their identity with being someone's daughter or son. They behave as if that were their achievement.”

While citing an example of his younger son, Soham, Shaan revealed, “My son Soham does everything like a struggler. When asked him why, he told me that if he doesn't do it, he won't understand the true meaning of hard work and success.”

Shaan remembers his father Manas Mukherjee

Shaan also remembered his father Manas Mukherjee, who was also a singer in the golden era of Indian cinema. He revealed that his father didn’t see his success. The singer further said, “I always would have loved to see his father getting happy about his son's success. He was always proud of me. He was very strong. He struggled a lot. He had a lot of talent but didn't see that kind of success. That hurts me more. I wish he would have seen my success. I wish I had seen his success. His success was a big one. I am not even 2 per cent of my father. I wish he would live a little more. My mother saw my success.” Coming back to Shaan, the singer has sung songs for many Bollywood actors like Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan and so on.
