Café, the new Netflix series, is garnering attention for its soft, slow and warm love story. Directed by Ruchir Arun, the show is based on a popular Hindi novel written by Divya Prakash Dubey of the same title. It released on Friday on the streaming platform. Musafir Café is headlined by Vikrant Massey, Vedika Pinto and Mahima Makwana. Mounted on a modest budget, the cast of the show was reportedly paid as per industry standards and their popularity. While reports state that Vikrant was the highest-paid, it should be noted that he is the co-producer of the show.

According to various reports,
Vikrant was paid around Rs 10 to 15 crore. It is also his debut as a co-producer with his home banner Homemade Stories. Vikrant plays the role of Chander Mohan Sharma in
Musafir Café. Vedika Pinto, who is seen as Sudha, was reportedly paid between Rs 3 and 5 crore for the show. Preeti, played by Mahima Makwana, earned around Rs 2 to 3 crore for the series.
Adil Hussain, who plays Mark in
Musafir Café, took home around Rs 3 to 4 crore. The supporting cast, including Rajeev Siddhartha, Anubha Fatehpuria, Loveleen Mishra and Sadia Siddiqui, were reportedly paid in the range of Rs 80 lakh and Rs 2 crore each.

Musafir Café is produced by Terribly Tiny Tales (TTT) and Homemade Stories. The series is created and written by Sharanya Rajgopal. The show follows the story of Chander Mohan Sharma, an engineer-turned-logistics expert, who leaves behind a secure and stable career in the U.S and settles in Bhopal, away from his family. Under family pressure, he meets Sudha, an independent and free-spirited divorce lawyer. She is not keen on marriage and wants to achieve her goals before settling down. However, their paths cross, but it leads their love story to an unfortunate end. Chander opens his café in Mussoorie and runs it with Preeti. Unlike Sudha, she is quiet and has a different perspective towards life. The show explores Chander’s relationships with Sudha and Preeti and how his life changes with the unexpected return of his past.
