BTS turned the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final Halftime into their own arena as RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook took the stadium down with a bombastic performance on their global smash hit, Dynamite. The septet was among the headliners of the world's biggest football tournament, alongside Madonna, Shakira, and Justin Bieber. The band even made history as the first full-fledged K-pop band to perform at FIFA. The show was curated by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, and it was a perfect culmination of weeks of excitement, waiting, and speculation about the OT7's performance and which song they would pick. Even though the halftime was an 11-minute act, with every artist getting close to 1.5 minutes, BTS made sure every second they got on the stage of the field counted. They grabbed the opportunity and turned up the heat. Dynamite, their 2020 track, is mostly called the K-pop band's first massive worldwide hit, which cemented its position on the global charts.Due to the limited time, BTS altered portions in the song to ensure every member got their moment. While Jungkook mostly led, the vocal line of Jin and Jimin wooed with their siren voices, as V added his baritone punch. The Rap line came with RM and Suga vibing together, to be joined by J-Hope and his signature histrionics with the dance moves.Known for changing lyrics to suit their acts, FIFA was no different. V played with his lines from "game of ping-ping" to "game of football."

Dynamite is BTS' first major worldwide hit

For the unversed, Dynamite is BTS' first song which was fully recorded in English. Infact, it was one of their first where the members did not contribute to songwriting or production. It was written and produced by David Stewart, along with co-writer Jessica Agombar. It belongs to the band's BE, which is its fifth Korean-language and ninth overall studio album.

About FIFA's first Halftime at World Cup

This was the first time in FIFA history that a World Cup final featured a halftime show, much like the NFL Super Bowl. The show is produced in partnership with Global Citizen to support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which works to increase access to education and football opportunities for children across the world.

Jungkook's second time at FIFA

Previously, BTS member Jungkook made history at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar by becoming the first Korean solo artist to perform at the tournament's opening ceremony. He delivered a live rendition of the official anthem, Dreamers, at the Al Bayt Stadium, joined on stage by Qatari singer and producer Fahad Al Kubaisi.
