Shankar's son Arjith Shankar has officially announced his acting debut with a film called Lover Boy. The project was launched with a pooja ceremony in Chennai. The launch event was attended by the likes of AR Murugadoss, H Vinoth, and Madhan alongside Shankar. The renowned filmmakers came in to support Arjith, who earlier moved to the US with plans to study filmmaking, but later trained at the National School of Drama before deciding to step in front of the camera.

Lover Boy has been officially launched with a formal pooja in Chennai. The film is directed by Ashok, who has previously worked as an associate of Atlee, and produced by Passion Studios and KVN Productions.In his debut outing, Arjith will be joined by Kirthy Shetty, who attended the launch event and stole the show with her stunning look. Arjith and Kirthy posed for several pictures together, offering a glimpse into what their chemistry would look like on the big screen.Passion Studios producer Sudhan Sundaram spoke about Lover Boy and said the production house has always backed fresh and emotionally engaging stories while supporting new talent. He shared that from the very first narration, the team had full faith in director Ashok's vision and the world he had built.Talking about the cast, Sudhan praised Arjith Shankar as someone who not only has dedication but also a deep knowledge of cinema. He also spoke highly of Krithi Shetty, calling her an excellent actress who has already proved her talent through strong performances across several films. He said the entire team is looking forward to creating a great theatrical experience for audiences.

Meanwhile, Jason is set to make his directorial debut with Sigma, a high-stakes heist adventure packed with action, comedy, and treasure-hunt elements. He underwent formal training in both filmmaking and screenwriting before taking on his first feature, studying at the Toronto Film School and later in London.Sigma stars Sundeep Kishan in the lead role and is produced by Lyca Productions, with music composed by Thaman S. The film is confirmed to release in theatres on July 31.
