For more than a decade, Stranger Things wasn't just a television show for Millie Bobby Brown - it was her entire world. Now, as the blockbuster Netflix series has come to an end, the actress recently revealed that saying goodbye left her grappling with an emotional void that she describes as a "slight depression." As per a report in Variety, speaking candidly at Happy Sad Confused at 92NY, Millie Bobby Brown spoke about the aftermath of wrapping up the beloved sci-fi drama. Millie Bobby Brown admitted that the transition was far more difficult than she had thought it would be. The actress, who was just 10 years old when she was cast as Eleven, said the end of the series marked the closing of a chapter that had defined most of her life. "I started
the show when I was 10, and this character was me," Brown shared, explaining how deeply intertwined her identity had become with Eleven and the world of Stranger Things. The actress also recalled, “I went into a little bit of a slight, slight depression,” adding, “It was very hard for me. I would not have expected that coming off of the show. I’m a very happy-go-lucky person.”
The emotional impact ofStranger Things ending was so intense that Brown spent part of January reaching out to her co-stars in an effort to ensure there were no lingering misunderstandings or unresolved tensions between them. "They probably thought I was crazy," she recalled. "I was like, 'We're still friends, right? Like, you're not gonna stop talking to me anymore?'"Brown revealed that she personally called cast members to apologise if she had ever upset them and to reaffirm the bond they had built over the years. "It's been 10 years, and I really want to be friends. You're my sibling," she told them. The actress further explained that the cast had become more than colleagues. Having spent her formative years on set, she often saw her co-stars more than her own family. The realisation that this daily connection was coming to an end proved overwhelming. Reflecting on a particularly emotional moment, Brown revealed that she broke down while sitting alone on a beach. "It was beautiful, and I just sat there crying," she said, adding, "It was a very hard time for me."For the actress, saying goodbye to Eleven may have been the hardest part of all. "I'm going to miss Eleven more than anything," she admitted.
