Artificial
intelligence tools can now work on the behalf of users in the background while they relax. One such popular tool is Anthropic’s Claude Cowork. Now, the American tech giant has expanded Calude Cowork to mobile and web, allowing users to start a task on one device, check its progress on another and receive the complete work later. This could work even if a users’ computer is no longer running. The move comes as AI players are rushing to launch new AI features eagerly. OpenAI is also doing something similar with its Codex tool, which initially started as a software development platform but now could be used by non-developers for presentations, research and more.
AI That Keeps Working In The Background
Earlier this year,
Claude Cowork was first introduced as a desktop feature. With the latest update, it is no longer tied to a single computer. Users can assign a task to Claude, and continue tracking the progress from their smartphone or web browser. Scheduled jobs can also run without requiring a device to stay online. As per Anthropic, if AI reaches a point where it needs a users’ decision, it sends a notification so the person can review or guide the task before it continues. The non-developer users can use this tool to organise documents, review contracts, prepare client presentations, analyse reports, summarise meetings and create business documents from emails.
Who Can Use The Claude Cowork
According to
Anthropic, Claude Cowork on mobile and web is currently being released in beta, with Max subscribers receiving access first. The company stated that the rollout will expand to more users in the coming weeks. To encourage users to try larger projects, Anthropic has also extended doubled Cowork usage limits until August 5, giving early users more room to test long-running tasks across devices.
