Speaking at the Ananda Vikatan Cinema Awards, Anurag Kashyap praised Pradeep Ranganathan’s film choices and spoke his impressive career. “Everyone is talking about Hollywood’s Obsession. But all three films starring Pradeep revolve around similar themes of obsession,” he said.

Pradeep Ranganathan was last seen in Love Insurance Kompany (LIK) and is next set to produce a woman-centric film featuring Mamitha Baiju and Ashwath Marimuthu in lead roles. Actress Swasika has also confirmed that she is part of the project, although the makers are yet to announce its director.
The actor-filmmaker has also clarified that his immediate focus is on acting, putting to rest speculation about him helming a major project. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Pradeep denied reports that he would direct the much-discussed film starring Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan."I won't be doing that film. Right now, my focus is on acting, and I can't say much more about it," he said.
Meanwhile, Anurag Kashyap was last seen in Dacoit: A Love Story and recently directed the crime thriller Bandar, starring Bobby Deol, Sanya Malhotra, Sapna Pabbi, Saba Azad, Indrajith Sukumaran, Raj B. Shetty and Jitendra Joshi. Apart from Hindi cinema, Anurag Kashyap has also established a presence in the South Indian film industry. In Tamil, he has played antagonists in Maharaja and Imaikkaa Nodigal, besides making a cameo appearance in Leo. In Malayalam, he made his acting debut with Rifle Club and co-produced the critically acclaimed Moothon.
