On Sunday, he was spotted at Hyderabad's Begumpet Airport before flying to Coimbatore with his father Chiranjeevi, mother Surekha and wife Upasana Konidela. The surgery is scheduled to take place at a popular hospital on July 28. Fans have since flooded social media with messages wishing the actor a successful surgery and a speedy recovery.

The actor was accompanied by his father, veteran actor Chiranjeevi, mother Surekha and wife Upasana Konidela, with several videos of the family arriving in the city circulating widely on social media. According to reports, Ram Charan suffered a wrist cartilage tear while shooting high-intensity wrestling sequences for Peddi.

The actor is set to undergo the procedure under the supervision of a specialist in hand and wrist surgery. Fans have taken to social media to wish him a successful operation and a speedy recovery as he prepares to take a temporary break from work.

Ram Charan To Resume Work On Sukumar's RC17 After Recovery

Following the surgery, Ram Charan is expected to take a break of around three months before returning to filming. He is likely to resume work only after receiving medical clearance. His next project is expected to be the tentatively titled RC17, directed by Sukumar. Reports suggest the filmmaker has completed the script after months of pre-production and is currently focused on location scouting, casting and other preparatory work. Contrary to earlier speculation, the film is reportedly being planned as a standalone project rather than a two-part franchise. Sukumar is said to have written a commercial action entertainer featuring a fresh and powerful role for Ram Charan.

Interestingly, Ram Charan is the third member of the Mega family to undergo surgery this year. Chiranjeevi recently underwent shoulder surgery, while Pawan Kalyan had rotator cuff surgery in Mumbai and is currently recovering.Written and directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi released in theatres on June 4. The sports drama stars Ram Charan alongside Shiva Rajkumar, Janhvi Kapoor and Jagapathi Babu. The film opened to mixed reception at the box office. Despite this, it became one of South Indian cinema's highest grosser of the year.
