Sunita Ahuja Talks About Her Pregnancy
During Mashable India's The Bombay Journey,
Sunita Ahuja opened up about her admiration for Bollywood legends Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra. She recalled how she would often look at their photographs when she was pregnant with Yashvardhan.
Speaking about that time, she called Amitabh Bachchan her favourite hero. "Mera beta jab pet main tha toh maine do hi logon ka photo dekha tha, ek Dharam ji, Amit ji. Yashvardhan ka personality Amit ji jaise hogaya hai aur shakal Dharam ji jaisi," she said, adding that she is very happy about this fact.(Translation: Amitabh Bachchan is my favourite hero. When I was pregnant with my son, I usd to look at photos of only two people - Amit ji and Dharam ji. Yashvardhan's personality resembles Amitabh Bachchan's and his looks are similar to Dharmendra's.)Sunita also revealed that elders often encouraged expectant mothers to watch religious content because it was believed that babies could absorb influences while in the womb. "We were told to watch Ramayana because the child listens while in the mother's womb. So my mother used to put Ramayana on TV whenever there was an eclipse," she shared. However, she added that today's kids do not pay heed to such advice.
When Sunita Previously Recalled Yashvardhan's Birth
This isn't the first time Sunita has shared memories from her pregnancy journey. During an earlier appearance on the YouTube channel Eat Travel Repeat, she candidly spoke about the challenges she faced while carrying Yashvardhan. "When I was delivering my son Yash, I was 100 kgs. I had gained a lot of weight. I thought I will die. Looking at me, Chi Chi started to cry," she recalled. She further revealed that sex determination tests were legal at the time and that the family already knew they were expecting a baby boy. "I dramatically told the doctor, 'Doctor, my husband wants a son. Please save the child, it is okay if I die in the process.' This made Govinda cry even more." Sunita added that Govinda started howling after hearing her talk like that.
