The franchise’s fans and other audiences will witness a clamped-down version of their much-anticipated comedy classic. Read below to know more about the changes.
The U/A 16+ Certificate
Welcome to the Jungle has received a U/A 16+ certificate from the CBFC officially. The certification was only after minor yet significant alterations in the film’s dialogues, bikini scenes, Kashmir mentions, and hand gestures, among others. This led to significant changes in the film's visual appeal, along with comedy sequences after the makers were bound to implement and amend. The film now has a runtime of 2 hours 44 minutes (164.50 minutes).
List Of The 18 Cuts Made
According to the reports by Variety India, the certificate showcased 18 cuts in total. Before
Welcome to the Jungle was approved for release, various dialogues were also either modified or completely removed. The Censor Board's focus remained on removing sensitive, political or offensive language. The modified dialogues included, “Kala paida hua hai…koayla hai,” which was changed to “Saadah paida hua…namoona hua hai.” Another dialogue, “Yaas karo kurbani muh me bhar lo paani,” was replaced by “suno sunata hoon kahani, jo shaheed honey jaa raha tha, uske muh mein bharlo paani”. Others excised were “Paani of Kashmir” and "desh ki tatti". A few words were also toned down due to their potentially controversial impact, like “Gorkha Regiment" with "Tum army se ho?" The word “general” was replaced by “officer” and “sir” by the board for the entire movie. Words like "andha" were replaced with "dheela", the line, "Izzat le lo" was substituted with "Yeh aapke saath jaane ko...", and the name "Azarudden" was modified to "Allaudin".
Changes in the film’s objectionable scenes involved clamping down on some bikini scenes, as a few of Disha Patani and Jacqueline Fernandez were removed from the final print. Cut down on close-up shots that showed women's hips. A vulgar hand gesture was replaced with Vindu Dara Singh's close-up. Makers made replacements or even had to delete a few for approval.
