Deepinder Goyal has recently announced that the Temple team has discovered a new biomarker called Entropy, which is claimed to measure the body's real-time metabolic cost. According to Deepinder Goyal, the biomarker can only be read from the temple region and is designed to track how much energy the body is using at any given moment. The announcement regarding the same was made via a post on X, where Goyal shared details about the mentioned metric and opened application for early access to Temple's platform.According to Zomato founder Goyal, Emntropy is a live metric displayed on Temple's home screen and updated every second. The score for this metric ranges from 1 to 250, out of which lower values meaning that the body is at rest and upper
values meaning it is in a state of heavy physical output. Goyal also stated that the lowest readings recorded by the company have been observed among experienced meditators during their deep meditation sessions. And the highest peak of Entropy was touched by elite athletes during their peak performance. Temple has also claimed that Entropy reflects the overall metabolic state of the body and keeps constantly changes in physiological conditions and daily activities. As for its working, Temple has said that Entropy responds to factors like stress, sleep, meals, caffeine, exercise, cold exposure, strength training, and more. As per Goyal, these activities affect the metabolism of individuals along with energy expenditure. Furthermore, Temple has not yet disclosed the underlying technology used to derive the biomarker or published detailed technical documentation explaining how the score is calculated. It has also been claimed that Entropy is more closely connected to metabolic activity as compared to heart rate. That's not it, Anthropic has dropped two additional metrics as well, Entropy Maxima (the highest level of output of a person) and Entropy Minima (the highest level of output of a person).
