The official social media handle for the film franchise shared a post revealing a silhouette of Taylor-Joy, announcing her as a cast member for the next part. Her character gives bold and action-packed vibes as she carries a bow and arrow in the post. The caption for the post read, “Welcome to the Hunt, Anya Taylor-Joy. The film is set for release on December 17, 2027.
The Lord of the Rings: Hunt for Gollum is directed by
Andy Serkis, who is all set to bring back his Gollum role on-screen. According to reports by The Hollywood Reporter, Anya Taylor-Joy will join the cast to play Seren, Woodland Realms’ Sindar Elf, who is also a trusted, fierce agent of King Thranduil.
About The Hunt for Gollum
The film is set for its theatrical run on December 17, next year. It will be structured between The Hobbit Trilogy and The Lord of the Rings trilogy. It will focus on the search for Gollum by Aragorn and Gandalf, as he has the information about Bilbo’s ring. The One Ring creates a threat for the entire Middle-earth, the publication reported.
The Hunt for Gollum Cast and Crew
Ian McKellen (Gandalf), Elijah Wood (Frodo) and Lee Pace as Thranduil will return for The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for the Gollum. Alongside Taylor-Joy, an ensemble of new cast members includes Kate Winslet, Jamie Dornan and Leo Woodall. The film is produced by Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens and Zayne Weiner. Boyens and Walsh also wrote the screenplay, along with Phoebe Gittins and Arty Papageorgiou. Ken Kamins, Serkis, and Jonathan Cavendish are associated with the film as executive producers.
Reports have suggested that Stephen Colbert is also writing a second film alongside Boyens and Peter McGee, under the tentative title, The Lord of the Rings: Shadow of the Past. This film is expected to arrive after The Hunt for the Gollum.
