For the unversed, Sonam Wangchuk is on an indefinite hunger strike at Delhi's Jantar Mantar, and his deteriorating health and the issues he is protesting over have become national news.

On July 18, Dia took to her Instagram handle and posted a card with the caption, "I stand with the students of this nation. I support the right to peaceful protesting. “I’m on board with the call for accountability, transparency and reforms in our education system. “I stand with Sonam Wangchuk, Neha, Ameen and Manish." In the caption of the post, Dia reiterated her commitment to the cause. "I have been and will continue to support the students of my country. “I hear you. I see you. I stand with you," she wrote.

The actor also addressed the ongoing campaign by Sonam Wangchuk, specifically saying, "I support Sonam ji's demand for dialogue. I support his right to protest."In a separate comment, she even gave it back to the trolls. Her comment read, "The trolls and sponsored bots have arrived. Respond to them if they are real people. But only respectfully and with grace. Baaki ignore karo."

Sonam Wangchuk joined the Cockroach Janta Party's protest on June 28 after it started on June 20. The unrest is focused on alleged irregularities in the NEET exam and wider concerns about India's education system. The protesters are demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and compensation to the families of the students who allegedly died by suicide in the wake of the examination controversy.He has been leading a peaceful protest demanding more protection of Ladakh's environment, constitutional safeguards for the Union Territory and meaningful dialogue with the Centre. His demonstrations in recent weeks have raised wider issues of governance, climate change and citizens' rights.The Wangchuk movement has gained national attention, with students, activists and civil society groups engaging in peaceful protests and calling for engagement. On Sunday, he was removed from Jantar Mantar. He has reportedly been shifted to the emergency department of Safdarjung Hospital.
