Indian Railways has launched a new daily express train connecting Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) in Mumbai with Sawantwadi Road in the southern Konkan region. This service addresses a long-standing demand for better, more direct connectivity
to the picturesque coastal belt. The train, which was inaugurated on September 3, 2026, is expected to be a significant boost for tourism and local trade, making it easier for travellers to explore the region's famed beaches, historic forts, and lush landscapes. The schedule is designed for convenience, especially for those looking to maximise their weekend. Train No. 15087 departs from CSMT late at night at 11:55 PM, allowing you to finish your work week, board the train, and wake up in the Konkan. It is scheduled to reach Sawantwadi Road at 2:15 PM the next day. For the return journey, Train No. 15088 leaves Sawantwadi Road at 5:20 PM and arrives back at CSMT early the next morning at 6:40 AM, giving you just enough time to get ready for the day ahead. This overnight schedule means you don’t lose precious daylight hours to travel.

Covering a distance of about 510 kilometers, the train makes 22 stops, opening up a wide array of destinations in the Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts.
