Thailand: Understanding the Current Visa Rules
The situation for Thailand is currently in a transition phase as of early August 2026. For now, the visa exemption scheme allowing Indian passport holders a 60-day stay for tourism remains in effect. However, the Thai Cabinet has approved a major policy revision. Once this new rule is published in the Royal Gazette and a 15-day period passes, the visa-free stay for Indians will be reduced to 30 days. An earlier proposal to move India to a paid Visa on Arrival category was withdrawn.
