Some studies suggest that students who frequently use AI for answers may bypass the essential cognitive struggle required for deep learning, focusing on task completion rather than genuine understanding. The fear is that convenience could lead to a form of cognitive atrophy, where the skills of analysis, synthesis, and evaluation weaken over time.
