While the nature of work is changing, the demand for strong technical skills remains robust; it’s the type of skills that has evolved. A recent study found that 63% of firms reported a rising demand for candidates with hybrid skill sets that combine domain expertise with AI and data capabilities. Employers are increasingly looking for professionals who can bridge the gap between technical teams and business objectives. Furthermore, soft skills are becoming a key differentiator. Critical thinking, strategic problem-solving, communication, and creativity are essential for identifying the right problems for AI to solve and for interpreting the results in a business context. One report noted that tech professionals with strong workplace skills in addition to technical ones get promoted 13 percent faster. In an AI-driven world, the ability to frame a problem and communicate its solution is just as important as the ability to build the model itself.
