The latest initiative zooms in on motorcycle tourism, recognizing the growing number of riders who seek the freedom of the open road and the thrill of exploring remote landscapes. The plan aims to create curated circuits that guide bikers through scenic routes, ensuring both safety and adventure.
Spotlight on Parvathipuram Manyam
A key focus of this new push is the Parvathipuram Manyam district, a region rich in natural beauty but often overlooked by mainstream tourism. The district administration has been tasked with developing a comprehensive action plan to establish safe and engaging bike tourism routes. The goal is to identify 30-kilometre stretches that feature winding ghat roads, lush forests, and stunning viewpoints. This initiative builds on the success of a pilot program where local tribal youth provided bike taxi services to help tourists reach remote waterfalls, demonstrating a clear demand for such experiences. This new, larger-scale plan aims to create employment for tribal youth while offering riders an authentic glimpse into the region's culture and landscapes.
Discovering the Eastern Ghats
The hills and valleys of the Eastern Ghats are the crown jewels of Andhra's interior. Areas like the Araku Valley, already popular for its coffee plantations and tribal culture, serve as a gateway to even more secluded spots.
