An Overview of the Package
IRCTC Tourism has launched a special international tour package named “Wonders of Vietnam & Cambodia” designed for travellers departing from Chennai. This follows a similar successful launch from Bengaluru. The trip is structured as a 7-night, 8-day journey
that offers a comprehensive glimpse into the rich history, vibrant culture, and breathtaking landscapes of these two Southeast Asian nations. Scheduled to run from November 17 to November 25, 2026, the package is designed to be an all-inclusive experience, making international travel accessible and hassle-free for those starting their journey from Tamil Nadu's capital.
Your Eight-Day Itinerary
The adventure begins at Chennai International Airport, where passengers board a flight to Da Nang, Vietnam. The itinerary is packed with iconic destinations. In Vietnam, travellers will explore Da Nang, including Ba Na Hills and the famous Golden Bridge, the historic lantern-lit streets of Hoi An Ancient Town, and the capital city of Hanoi. A major highlight is an overnight cruise on the stunning Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its emerald waters and limestone islands. After exploring Vietnam, the tour proceeds to Cambodia. The focus here is Siem Reap, the gateway to the magnificent Angkor Wat temple complex. Travellers will have dedicated time to explore this world-renowned archaeological park before flying back to Chennai.
Understanding the Costs
The package pricing is structured to accommodate different group sizes, with costs varying based on occupancy. For a single traveller, the price is approximately ₹1,75,200. For those travelling in pairs, the cost per person for double occupancy is around ₹1,53,750, and for triple occupancy, it is about ₹1,51,250. There are also specific prices for children travelling with adults. The cost for a child aged five to eleven with an extra bed is ₹1,31,500, while a child without an extra bed is priced at ₹1,15,600. It's important to note that these prices are inclusive of a 2% Tax Collected at Source (TCS).
What the Package Includes
One of the main attractions of the IRCTC package is its all-inclusive nature, which minimizes the stress of planning. The cost covers return airfare from Chennai in economy class, as well as the necessary domestic flight within Vietnam from Da Nang to Hanoi. It includes the visa fees for both Vietnam and Cambodia, which is a significant convenience. Accommodation is provided in 3-star hotels throughout the trip, with a special night spent on a cruise in Ha Long Bay. Most meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) are covered as per the itinerary. All ground transportation in an air-conditioned coach, entrance fees for sightseeing spots, and the services of an English-speaking guide are also part of the package. Furthermore, travel insurance is included for passengers up to the age of 79.
What Is Not Included
While the package is comprehensive, travellers should budget for a few additional expenses. The cost does not cover tips for local drivers and guides, which are a customary practice in the region. Any expenses of a personal nature, such as laundry, room service, telephone calls, or consumption from the minibar, are also excluded. Meals that are not specifically mentioned in the detailed itinerary will have to be paid for separately. Travellers should also be aware of potential extra charges, such as those for an urgent visa application if needed. It is also wise to be prepared for any changes in flight schedules, as the IRCTC is not responsible for cancellations or delays from the airline's side.
