About the New Express Service
Indian Railways has given the green light for a new daily express train connecting Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) with Sawantwadi Road. Operating as train numbers 15087 and 15088, this service will cover the approximately 510-kilometer
route, making travel more convenient for tourists, students, and local residents alike. The train is set to make 22 stops at key stations, including Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Kankavli, and Kudal, before terminating at Sawantwadi Road. This initiative is expected to be a significant boost for tourism and regional development, making the Konkan's beaches, forts, and temples more accessible. The official launch date and detailed timetable are expected to be announced soon.

While the train connects numerous towns, a few key stations will serve as primary gateways for travellers heading to popular destinations in the Sindhudurg district. Kankavli station is a crucial entry point for those looking to explore Sindhudurg fort and the surrounding Malvan area.
