The Day-by-Day Itinerary Highlights
The tour covers some of Japan's most iconic destinations. The journey begins in Tokyo, the bustling capital, where travellers will visit modern marvels like the Tokyo Skytree, the immersive teamLab Planets digital art museum, and the world-famous Shibuya Crossing. From Tokyo, the group will travel towards the majestic Mount Fuji, with a planned visit to the 5th Station, a popular viewpoint. The tour continues through Hakone, known for its scenic ropeway and lake cruise. A major highlight is the experience of riding the Shinkansen, Japan's famous bullet train, en route to Hiroshima. In Hiroshima, the group will visit the solemn Peace Memorial Park. The route also covers the cultural heart of Japan, with stops in Kyoto and Nara to see the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, Fushimi Inari Shrine, and the friendly deer of Nara Park. The tour concludes with experiences in Osaka before heading back.
Package Costs and Occupancy
The headline starting price of ₹2.63 lakh refers to the cost for a child (aged 5-11) without an extra bed. For adults, the pricing structure varies based on occupancy. The cost for a person on a twin-sharing basis is ₹3,36,200. For those opting for triple occupancy, the price is nearly identical at ₹3,36,300 per person. Solo travellers who prefer their own room will have a single occupancy cost of ₹4,14,770. It is important to note that an additional 2% Tax Collected at Source (TCS) is applicable on top of these package prices. These rates are designed to be comprehensive, bundling most of the major travel expenses into one upfront cost.
What the Package Includes
This IRCTC package is designed to be largely all-inclusive, simplifying travel planning. The price covers return economy class airfare from Mumbai on Air India. Accommodation for the 8 nights will be in comfortable three-star hotels. Daily breakfast, along with Indian-style lunches and dinners, are also part of the package. One of the most significant inclusions is the Japan tourist visa fee, which the IRCTC will handle. Furthermore, all sightseeing as per the itinerary in air-conditioned coaches, entry tickets to attractions, and the Shinkansen bullet train ticket are covered. To ensure a smooth experience, the services of a local guide and an IRCTC tour manager are provided, along with travel insurance for passengers.
What Is Not Included?
While the package is extensive, prospective travellers should be aware of expenses that are not covered. The primary exclusions are personal expenses, such as shopping, laundry, and any food or drinks ordered outside of the provided meals. The cost of any optional tours or activities not mentioned in the official itinerary will also have to be borne by the traveller. Tips for guides, drivers, and hotel staff are typically not included in such packages and are an additional out-of-pocket expense. It is always advisable to carry extra currency for these incidental costs to ensure a comfortable trip without financial surprises.
