When to Reach for an Electrolyte Drink

For a simple homemade solution, you can create your own electrolyte drink. A basic recipe involves mixing water with a small amount of salt (for sodium and chloride), a splash of orange or lemon juice (for potassium and a little sugar), and a touch of honey or maple syrup for glucose to help with absorption.
