For a low-cost, localised solution, moisture-absorbing products like silica gel packs, activated charcoal, or even bowls of rock salt can be placed in enclosed spaces like wardrobes and cabinets to combat dampness and protect your belongings.

Small changes in your routine can have a big impact. Let natural sunlight into rooms whenever possible, as its UV rays can help kill mould spores and dry out damp surfaces. Avoid drying laundry in unventilated indoor spaces, as this releases a large amount of moisture into the air. If you have an air conditioner, running it helps reduce humidity as it cools, but ensure it's properly maintained to function effectively.
