Heavy rains frequently lead to waterlogged roads and massive traffic jams, which can make reaching your exam centre a nightmare. On exam day, plan to leave much earlier than you normally would. Check for traffic updates and have alternative routes in mind. If you rely on public transport, be aware of potential delays or route changes. For those who drive, ensure your vehicle's tyres, brakes, and wipers are in good condition. Driving slowly and maintaining a safe distance from other vehicles is crucial on wet, slippery roads. Having a reliable cab service on standby or arranging to travel with friends can also be a smart backup plan.
Power Through the Outages
Power cuts are a common companion to heavy rains in many parts of India. Don't let a blackout derail your revision schedule. Keep all your electronic devices, including your phone, laptop, and any power banks, fully charged whenever electricity is available. A charged power bank can be a lifeline, allowing you to use your phone for light or to power a small reading lamp. For internet-dependent study, consider using your phone as a hotspot, but be mindful of data usage and battery drain. The monsoon season is notorious for bringing a wave of illnesses like the common cold, flu, and water-borne diseases. Falling sick during exam week can be disastrous for your performance.
