The Railway Board has officially approved a new Vande Bharat Express service connecting Surat directly to Udaipur City. This is a significant development, as it marks the first Vande Bharat train to originate from Surat, providing a premium, high-speed
travel option for residents of South and Central Gujarat. The train, numbered 26903/26904, will run six days a week, with no service on Tuesdays. This new service replaces the previous Udaipur-Asarva Vande Bharat, extending the route to offer a direct link between the textile hub and the popular tourist destination.
A Schedule Built for Weekenders
The real advantage for weekend travellers lies in the train's schedule, though it isn't an overnight journey. The train is scheduled to depart from Surat at 6:10 AM, arriving in Udaipur City at 1:40 PM the same day. This allows you to check into your hotel, have a late lunch, and still have the evening to begin exploring. On the return leg, the train will depart from Udaipur at 3:35 PM and arrive back in Surat at 11:00 PM, concluding your weekend trip.
