If you live with a cat, you’ve seen it: that intense, unblinking stare directed at a bird, a passing car, or even just a leaf skittering across the pavement below. For cats, especially those living exclusively indoors in apartments, windows are their
television, their social media feed, and their connection to the wider world. This behaviour isn't just about curiosity; it’s deeply rooted in their instinct. Cats are hardwired predators, and observing movement stimulates their minds. A good vantage point allows them to survey their territory, watch for ‘prey’ (like pigeons and squirrels), and soak up the warmth of the sun. Providing this outlet, often called 'cat TV,' is one of the most effective ways to prevent boredom and the behavioural issues that can stem from it, such as destructive scratching or anxiety.

A window-mounted floating sun perch is exactly what it sounds like: a bed or platform that attaches directly to a windowpane, creating an elevated space for your cat to lounge. Unlike bulky cat trees or window-sill extenders that may not fit your space, these perches are minimalist and space-efficient, making them ideal for modern Indian apartments where floor space can be at a premium. Start by thoroughly cleaning the windowpane with a glass cleaner, then wipe it down again with plain water or rubbing alcohol to remove any residue.
