While a 10-minute shift may seem minor, it is critical for passengers to adjust their travel plans to avoid missing their train, especially for the early morning departure to Deoghar and the afternoon service to Ranchi. New Timings: Varanasi-Ranchi Vande Bharat (20888)
The Varanasi-Ranchi Vande Bharat Express, with train number 20888, will now depart from Varanasi at 3:55 PM instead of its former time of 4:05 PM. This service, which was inaugurated in March 2024, has become a popular choice for travellers. The train runs six days a week, excluding Tuesdays, and covers the 536-kilometre distance in approximately 7 hours and 50 minutes. Its route includes key stops such as Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, Gaya, Koderma, Hazaribagh, and Bokaro Steel City before reaching Ranchi. Passengers have the choice between AC Chair Car and Executive Chair Car coaches for their journey.
New Timings: Varanasi-Deoghar Vande Bharat (22500)
For morning travellers and pilgrims, the Varanasi-Deoghar Vande Bharat Express (train number 22500) also has a new schedule. Previously departing at 6:20 AM, the train will now leave Varanasi at 6:10 AM. This service is particularly vital for those visiting the revered Baba Baidyanath Jyotirlinga temple in Deoghar. The train connects the two cities, covering a distance of roughly 456 kilometres. As with the Ranchi service, the arrival and departure times at all other stations along its route are not affected by this change. Passengers accustomed to the 6:20 AM departure will need to ensure they arrive at the station earlier to accommodate the new timing.

The Northern Railway has implemented these adjustments for what are cited as operational reasons, likely to improve punctuality and streamline the flow of traffic from the busy Varanasi station.
