The Summer Annuals edition of Amrit Udyan is open to the public from August 16 to September 15, 2026. The gardens are accessible from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with the final entry permitted at 5:00 PM. It's important to note that the gardens remain closed
every Monday for regular maintenance. Special entry arrangements are also in place for sportspersons on National Sports Day (August 29) and for teachers on Teachers' Day (September 5).
Booking Your Free Visit Online
Entry to Amrit Udyan is free of charge for all visitors, but advance online booking is mandatory. There is no facility for on-the-spot or walk-in registration. You can reserve your time slot exclusively through the official Rashtrapati Bhavan website (visit.rashtrapatibhavan.gov.in). Bookings for a specific day close at 10:00 AM on the preceding day, so it is crucial to plan ahead, especially for weekend visits which tend to see higher footfall. You will need to carry a digital copy of your visitor pass on your mobile phone along with a valid government-issued photo ID for entry.
Getting There and Away
Entry and exit for all visitors are handled through Gate No. 35, located on North Avenue Road. For those using public transport, the most convenient way to reach the gardens is by taking the Metro to the Central Secretariat station. A complimentary shuttle bus service is available from the station to the entry gate. These buses run at a 30-minute frequency from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM, making the commute seamless.
Dressing for a Monsoon Outing
Comfort is paramount when visiting the sprawling 15-acre garden. Since you will be doing a considerable amount of walking, comfortable, water-resistant footwear is highly recommended. Light, quick-drying fabrics are a smart choice for clothing. As the headline suggests, being rain-ready is key. While umbrellas are permitted inside, a good-quality raincoat or poncho can offer hands-free protection from showers, allowing you to continue exploring the gardens without interruption. You can carry wallets and purses, but larger backpacks are not allowed.
