The New Mumbai-Sawantwadi Express
Indian Railways has introduced a new daily express train connecting Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) with Sawantwadi Road in the southern Konkan region. Operating as train numbers 15087 and 15088, the service will cover the 510-kilometre
route every day. This move is a significant upgrade for a corridor that relies heavily on rail connectivity. The train will make 22 stops at important stations, including Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Roha, Khed, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Kankavli, and Kudal, before terminating at Sawantwadi Road. This extensive list of halts ensures that connectivity is improved not just between the two endpoints, but across numerous towns and districts along the picturesque Konkan coast.
