The Sole Carrier on the Route
Powering this significant expansion is Air India Express. The airline is the first and only carrier to establish this direct air bridge between Northeast India and West Asia. The new services to Dubai and Abu Dhabi represent the airline's first international operations from Guwahati, which is already one of its largest domestic stations with around 120 weekly flights. By deploying its modern Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft on these routes, the airline is underscoring its commitment to connecting emerging Indian cities with key global destinations. For travellers, this means that for the first time, booking a direct flight from the heart of the Northeast to the bustling commercial centres of the UAE is now possible through a single airline.
