So, how much strength training is needed to make a difference? The study identified a clear 'sweet spot'. Individuals who performed between 90 and 119 minutes of resistance training per week showed a 13% lower risk of dying from any cause during the study period compared to those who did none. Interestingly, doing more than 120 minutes a week didn't seem to offer additional benefits for all-cause mortality, suggesting that consistency is more important than sheer volume.
