The system, part of a Multi-Hazard Early Warning Decision Support System, integrates various data layers—including road and rail networks—to generate these corridor-specific alerts. This allows the IMD to provide hourly forecasts for the immediate future and 3-hourly forecasts for up to five days, giving travellers a detailed window into their journey's conditions.
