Staying hydrated in the heat seems simple: drink when you're thirsty. But humid weather complicates things. Normally, sweat cools you down as it evaporates from your skin. In high humidity, the air is already saturated with moisture, so your sweat can't
evaporate effectively. Your body's response is to sweat even more in an attempt to cool down, leading to continuous fluid loss without the cooling benefit. So, What Are Electrolytes?

When you need to replenish electrolytes, you have several options. Commercial sports drinks are readily available and formulated to replace sodium and potassium, but many also contain high amounts of sugar. Reading the label is key. For a more natural and often healthier approach, look no further than your own kitchen. Many everyday foods and drinks are excellent sources of electrolytes: - Coconut Water: Often called 'nature's sports drink', it's rich in potassium. - Homemade Nimbu Pani: A classic Indian solution. A mix of lemon juice, water, a pinch of salt (for sodium), and a little sugar or honey (for energy and taste) is a highly effective homemade electrolyte drink. - Fruits and Vegetables: Bananas (potassium), oranges (vitamin C and flavour), and leafy greens (magnesium) are great choices. - Dairy Products: Milk and yogurt contain calcium and sodium.
