Multiple Opportunities Available
In a significant opportunity for job seekers, ISRO is currently running two major recruitment campaigns. The first is for the prestigious Scientist/Engineer 'SC' posts, with 93 vacancies across several engineering disciplines. The second drive is for 267
administrative and support roles, including Assistant, Upper Division Clerk (UDC), Junior Personal Assistant (JPA), and Stenographer. These vacancies are spread across various ISRO centres nationwide, such as Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Thiruvananthapuram, and Sriharikota.
Scientist/Engineer 'SC' Roles
This recruitment is aimed at engineers and is being conducted by the ISRO Centralised Recruitment Board (ICRB). The 93 vacancies are available in specialisations including Electronics, Mechanical, Computer Science, Civil, and Electrical Engineering. To be considered, candidates must possess a B.E./B.Tech or equivalent degree in the relevant discipline with an aggregate minimum of 65% marks or a CGPA of 6.84 on a 10-point scale. A crucial requirement for this role is a valid GATE 2025 or GATE 2026 score in the corresponding subject.
Administrative and Clerical Roles
A separate notification invites applications for 267 posts including Assistants, UDCs, JPAs, and Stenographers. For the Assistant and UDC roles, the primary eligibility requirement is a Graduation degree with a minimum of 60% marks. The age limit for these positions is generally up to 28 years, with relaxations applicable for reserved categories as per government norms. These roles are vital for the smooth functioning of ISRO's various centres and offer a stable government career path.
The Selection Process
The selection methodology differs based on the role. For the Scientist/Engineer positions, candidates will be shortlisted for an interview based on their GATE scores in a 1:7 ratio. The final selection will be based on a 50% weightage given to the GATE score and 50% to the interview performance. The interview will assess technical knowledge, communication skills, and academic achievements. For the administrative posts, the selection process typically involves a written test followed by a skill test, depending on the specific role. Candidates applying for multiple administrative roles must select the same written test centre.
Key Dates and How to Apply
Time is of the essence for aspiring candidates. The deadline to apply for the Scientist/Engineer 'SC' posts is August 17, 2026. For the administrative and clerical positions, the last date for online applications is August 20, 2026. All applications must be submitted online through the official ISRO website, isro.gov.in. After registering, applicants receive a unique registration number which should be saved for future reference.
