Previously, reaching the coastal town was an ordeal involving long train journeys or a flight to a nearby city followed by a lengthy road transfer. The new route is a significant milestone, strengthening air connectivity to the Union Territory and making it more accessible for both tourists and business travellers. The flight itself takes approximately two hours and fifty minutes, a stark contrast to the old travel methods.

A train journey from Hazrat Nizamuddin station to Vapi, the nearest major railhead to Daman, would take over 14 hours. From Vapi, it's another 30-45 minute drive to Daman. Another option was flying to Surat, which takes about two hours, but this was followed by a 2-3 hour cab ride covering roughly 125 kilometres to reach Daman. Flying to Mumbai was also possible, but that meant an even longer 4-5 hour road trip to Daman. All told, a door-to-door journey could easily consume 10 to 15 hours. Now, the total travel time has been drastically slashed.
