From World Cup Glory to a Dubai Address
While the entire nation celebrated India's recent T20 World Cup triumph, for the players, the victory was a culmination of years of hard work. While Rohit Sharma lifted the trophy as captain, the explosive batting of Suryakumar Yadav was instrumental
throughout the tournament. Now, the star batsman, often called SKY, is translating his on-field success into significant personal milestones. He recently announced on social media that he and his wife, Devisha Shetty, have purchased a luxury waterfront property in Dubai, signaling a new chapter for the cricketing icon.
Inside the Cricketer’s New Abode
Yadav's new property is located in the upscale Dubai Maritime City, part of a development named 'Shahrukhz Residence by Danube'. While the exact price and configuration of the apartment remain undisclosed, the project is positioned as a premium address. It boasts over 40 lifestyle and wellness amenities, including a unique 'Longevity Lounge' aimed at health and recovery, with features like red light therapy and cryotherapy. This focus on athlete-centric wellness reportedly played a key role in Yadav's decision. The move also carries a touch of Bollywood glamour, as the development is associated with superstar Shah Rukh Khan, leading to reports that SKY has become his new high-profile 'neighbour'.
Why Dubai is the New Favourite
Suryakumar Yadav is not the first Indian celebrity, or even the first cricketer, to invest in Dubai's booming real estate market. The city has long been a magnet for high-net-worth individuals from India. In a video announcing the purchase, Yadav himself explained his affinity for the city. 'I first came to Dubai in 2014... a lot of people in India are looking at Dubai. The luxury and the standard of living here are different,' he said, also praising the city's safety and the comfort he feels when visiting. This sentiment is common, as Dubai offers a combination of a high-end lifestyle, world-class amenities, proximity to India, and favourable investment policies that make it an attractive second home for the country's elite.
A Portfolio Fit for a Superstar
This Dubai home is the latest addition to an already impressive real estate portfolio. Back home in Mumbai, Suryakumar and his wife have made significant investments in property. Reports from early 2026 indicate that Devisha Shetty purchased an apartment in Chembur for over ₹7 crore. This followed earlier purchases in 2025, where the couple reportedly bought two apartments in Deonar for a combined value of over ₹21 crore. These investments, now including an international property, underscore the financial success that has accompanied Yadav's rise in the cricketing world, with an estimated net worth between ₹70-90 crores and a multi-crore IPL contract with the Mumbai Indians.
The Ascent of 'Mr. 360'
The purchase is a testament to Suryakumar Yadav's remarkable career trajectory. For years, he was a standout performer in domestic cricket and the IPL, but he had to wait until he was 30 for his international debut in 2021. Since then, his rise has been meteoric. Known as 'Mr. 360' for his innovative and audacious shot-making all around the ground, he has redefined T20 batting. He has held the No. 1 spot in the ICC T20I rankings for batsmen and was named the ICC Men's T20I Cricketer of the Year for both 2022 and 2023. This new property is more than just a home; it's a symbol of his journey from a domestic stalwart to a global cricket superstar at the peak of his powers.
