The project involved constructing numerous tunnels and bridges, including two engineering marvels: the Chenab Rail Bridge, the world's highest railway bridge, and the Anji Khad Bridge, India's first cable-stayed railway bridge. With the completion of this final link, a reliable, all-weather transportation artery to the valley is now a reality, ending the region's heavy dependence on the often-disrupted Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
