This supportive policy landscape, combined with robust infrastructure and a comparatively lower cost of living, has created fertile ground for tech expansion. The city is now home to the second-largest technology talent hub in the country and hosts nearly 20% of India's Global Capability Centres (GCCs), with companies like Microsoft, Amazon, and Google operating their largest facilities outside of the US here.
Who Is Hiring and What Skills Are in Demand?
The demand for AI professionals in Hyderabad spans the entire corporate spectrum. Global tech giants like Microsoft, Amazon, and Deloitte are actively recruiting for roles ranging from AI Engineers to Applied AI Researchers. At the same time, the city's burgeoning startup scene, which includes over 1,200 startups and unicorn Darwinbox, is a hotbed for AI-centric roles. Job portals are flooded with openings for Gen AI Developers, Machine Learning Engineers, and AI Automation Specialists. According to recent reports, AI and Machine Learning roles are the fastest-growing segment in the white-collar job market, with Hyderabad being one of the leading cities driving this growth. The skills in highest demand reflect the industry's focus on practical application. Proficiency in Python is considered non-negotiable, alongside experience with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch. Increasingly, companies are seeking talent with expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), prompt engineering, and MLOps—the skills needed to build and deploy sophisticated AI systems.
